Step 1: Add an excess amount of titrant to the analyte solution. This means you are adding more titrant than what is needed to completely react with the analyte.
Step 2: After the reaction, some titrant will remain unreacted. You will then titrate this unreacted titrant with another solution to find out how much titrant did not react.
